About Purchasing from R. Spurgeon
Purchasing Furniture
To purchase furniture, the customer should email me indicating the work they are interested in and any additional information they would like to have. I will email back a confirmation invoice. When the customer has decided to purchase, he must email his billing address and phone number along with a 25% down payment. I will hold the piece until this 25% payment arrives (up to 7 days). Subsequently, the piece will be held until an agreed-upon date for customer pick-up in Lima, Ohio; but not to exceed 30 days.
We have found that customer pick-up is the most satasfactory method to all concerned.
- personally meet the craftsman/artist who worked your piece from conception to completion
- inspect the piece first-hand for your satisfaction
- avoid shipping damage
- 100% paid in full is required prior to or at pick-up.
- Cash or money order only. I am sorry we are not equipped to process credit cards.
- 100% payment in advance of both the furniture cost plus a delivery charge of $150.
- no refunds of delivery fees will be made when the delivery cannot be completed due to an incorrect delivery address or directions or when no one is at the address to receive the delivery.
(Please note that wood is a natural product with irregularities in grain patterns, color variances, occasional mineral streaks and small knots. These natural surface artifacts should not be looked on as imperfections but rather as Nature's beauty marks, and they do not constitute justification for rejecting a well-made piece. For those customers interested in a furniture piece exhibiting perfectly uniform surface color, I suggest searching the web for sellers of synthetic and metal furniture, of which there are many offering fine furniture in a wide variety of styles.)
